Summer Makeup Looks

Summertime, summertime – there’s nothing quite like it.  The sun is shining more often, the temperatures are warm, and we’ve switched up our hair and makeup looks.  Even though we tend to be on the more casual side during the summer months, we still want to have a little glam in our lives and express ourselves with our makeup.  Makeup is such a fun way to spice things up, no matter what time of year it is.  To get you some summer makeup inspiration, we’re sharing a few of our favorite summer makeup looks!

Bronze Everything

Naturally, we tend to get a little more bronzed in the summertime.  Even if you don’t naturally get bronzed, it’s fun to fake it a bit, especially in this time of year.  We’re all about getting that gorgeous J. Lo glow.  One of our favorite bronzed looks we came across was using bronzer to create a gorgeous, natural contoured look on the face, but also taking the bronzed tones to the eyes to further enhance the look.  When working with this look, keep the lips subtle with a natural color gloss or lipstick to let the bronzeyness be the focal point.  It’s a great way to look and feel a little glam but also be totally summer appropriate.

Add Some Color

Everything seems to be brighter in the summer from the weather to our clothes, so why leave out our makeup?  Adding a pop of color to your makeup look is a fun way to add a little something, while keeping your makeup overall pretty natural otherwise.  The most popular makeup looks for adding color are done with a bold lip color and adding a touch of color with eyeshadow to the lower lash line.  Both are great, easy ways to spice up your look without adding a lot of extra product to your face (so you don’t have to worry about melting makeup but not lack any personality or originality in your look.)

Keep it Simple, with a Twist

It’s likely that during the warmer months you don’t want to pile on too much makeup, but you don’t want to be boring with your makeup either.  We love the makeup looks that are simple, with little unique touches.  For example, if you want to keep your face makeup pretty natural and simple, a fierce cat eyeliner to your eye can be a great way to add a little drama and glam without feeling like you’re overdone.  Another route is adding a bold lip.  The great thing about a bold lip is you can go with a naked, or nearly naked, eye and face makeup and just the bold lip and you’ll look absolutely gorgeous!  Sometimes we overthink our makeup and feel like we have to be all or nothing, but remember you can choose different areas to add a little pop to.
